摘要: Abstract Urban water scarcity from ongoing drought and an increasing population are driving a range of saving options to be explored in Melbourne (Australia). This paper assesses the cost effectiveness five treatment industrial reuse Fishermans Bend area at Port Melbourne. In consultation with stakeholders local utility, study design began by identifying potential sources sinks area. Treatment technologies for each option – using combination membrane bioreactors (MBR) some cases reverse osmosis (RO) were developed. evaluating future implementation, ($/kiloLitre) was assessed relative supply augmentation demand management available Additionally, opportunities barriers implementation contrasted Kwinana Industrial Area, Western Australia where many regional synergy projects have been undertaken. research identifies that ecology requires strong stakeholder involvement as described this paper.
