摘要: Background: Kallikrein-related peptidase 7 (KLK7) is overexpressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC). The aims of this study were to examine the expression KLK7 during progression intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN) invasive PDAC and assess its prognostic significance for PDAC. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used using a tissue microarray (TMA) full sections containing normal tissue, PanIN, adenocarcinoma, association between prognosis examined by population-based cancer TMA. Results: Normal epithelium negative either TMAs or sections. Analysis showed that 91% cases positivity adenocarcinoma component, which significantly higher than PanIN 2/3. In PDAC, detected less 1% cells among 1A lesions, increased with grade 1B PanIN2/3 lesions before reaching 69% patients unresected associated shorter overall survival. Conclusions: Aberrant starts intermediate-to-late stages progression, KLK7-positive staining almost three-fold increase mortality rate Impact: poor outcome unresectable suggests inhibiting and/or activity could be therapeutic strategy. Because vast majority present disease, such an intervention have significant impact upon survival patient population. Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev; 1–8. ©2012 AACR .
