摘要: Safety and non-safety applications envisioned for Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs) heavily rely on broadcasting the exchange of data status messages. New threats to road safety efficiency raise if security requirements are not properly met. The decision whether or a driver can trust information about reported hazard should take into account tradeoff between delay, false warning probability likelihood missing hazard. Although in VANETs has been analytically studied at least simplified assumptions, related works do jointly consider reliability medium access control (MAC) protocol issues. In this letter, new analytical model is designed evaluating latency required guarantee trustworthiness VANETs. This explicitly accounts operation 802.11p/WAVE MAC computes mean delay as function number vehicles, ratio intruders well contention window sizes.
