摘要: Abstract Hierarchically porous carbon foams were produced by carbonization of hypercrosslinked polymerized high internal phase water-in-styrene/divinylbenzene emulsions (HIPEs). The hypercrosslinking these poly(ST- co -DVB)HIPEs was achieved using a dimethoxymethane external crosslinker to ‘knit’ together aromatic groups within the polymers Friedel-Crafts alkylation. By varying amount divinylbenzene (DVB) in HIPE templates and subsequent polymers, BET surface area micropore volume analogues can be varied systematically, allowing for production foams, or ‘carboHIPEs’, with areas, volumes pore-size distributions. carboHIPEs retain emulsion-templated macropores original polyHIPE, display excellent electrical conductivities have areas up 417 m 2 /g, all while eliminating need inorganic templates. use emulsion allows pourable, mouldable precursors designable carbonaceous materials.
