摘要: Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1A1 Ile462Val (exon7) polymorphism has been suggested to be a risk factor for several cancers. Published data on its association with oral cancer have generated conflicting results. Our previous meta-analysis containing from prior Jan 2008 regarding this issue failed find significant between CYP1A1 variation and susceptibility. An updated eligible studies the period up May 2012 was conducted. Separate analyses ethnicity source of controls were also performed. A total 13 case-control comprising 1,515 cases 2,233 lastly selected analysis. Compared meta-analysis, overall indicate (Val/Val vs. Ile/Ile--OR = 1.46; 95 % CI 0.96-2.24; dominant model--OR 1.01; 0.81-1.25; recessive 0.96-2.23). However, in subgroup analysis by ethnicity, increased observed among Asians under additive models 1.74; 1.04-2.90 model-OR 1.73; 1.04-2.87), inconsistent meta-analysis. Collectively, present study suggest that variant Val/Val alleles might modify susceptibility Asians. Further well-designed investigations large sample sizes are required confirm conclusion.
