摘要: We argue against the prevailing view that metathesis is somehow less natural phonetically than other processes and distinguished by a relatively greater phonological motivation. survey cases of consonant-vowel metathesis—both synchronic diachronic changes—with goal understanding how sound changes arise. identify two types CV metathesis, with distinct properties historical origins, we do have natural, phonetic bases fundamental commonalities.
