INSULIN RESISTANCE IN END STAGE RENAL DISEASE (ESRD) PATIENTS IN EASTERN INDIA: A POPULATION BASED OBSERVATIONAL STUDY

摘要: Background & Objective: Despite considerable advances made in the field of medicine general, and nephrology particular, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) End Stage Renal (ESRD) remain public health challenges enormous proportion. Aim: Considering that association between Insulin resistance CKD ESRD has been established studies conducted abroad, we propose to verify Indian setting i.e. among patients eastern India. Materials Methods: 95 were included control group 97 group. Only consenting individuals chosen through filters appropriate inclusion exclusion criteria part study. Results: The statistical software Minitab 16 was used analyze data. Serum fasting level, HOMA-IR, serum hsCRP, urea, creatinine levels significantly higher compared age sex matched individuals. Conclusion: Our study confirms IR found other studies. Although established, causality relation them is not very clear. Further exploration issue warranted. Keywords: Disease, Resistance
