摘要: The inducing effects of ethanol on alcohol dehydrogenase and the key enzymes glyoxylate cycle, isocitrate lyase malate synthase, in Euglena cells were investigated. Ethanol as sole carbon source resulted increases two cycle enzymes. experimental results indicated that is assimilated by Euglena. Mitochondria from aerobically grown contain a unique type accounts for their ability to respire with substrate. This was purified homogeneity ethanol-grown gracilis. mitochondrial NAD(+)-specific but not NADP(+)-specific. most active substrate, enzyme also towards 1-butanol, 1-heptanol, cinnamyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol. These participated metabolism
