摘要: The first case of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) in Denmark was diagnosed March 1992 by the detection specific antibodies against PRRS virus serum samples originating from sows a herd located on island Als. Subsequently, isolated 200-sow farrow-to-finish with clinical signs consistent PRRS. inoculation pleural fluid stillborn piglet onto pulmonary alveolar macrophages. isolate identified as staining antiserum. By electron microscopy, particle found to be spherical enveloped, measuring 45-55 nm diameter containing 30-35 nucleocapsid. Only minor antigenic differences were between Danish Dutch isolate. Following intranasal 3 pregnant gilts transplacental infection demonstrated re-isolation approximately 45% piglets experimentally infected gilts. However, experimental produced no significant disorders or other signs. At autopsy, histopathological examination revealed slight interstitial pneumonia few piglets.
