The cell cycle genes cdc22+ and suc22+ of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe encode the large and small subunits of ribonucleotide reductase.

摘要: The cdc22+ gene of Schizosaccharomyces pombe is required early in the cell cycle, and its transcript varies concentration step with a peak level at G1-S boundary. sequences multicopy suppressor cdc22ts mutations, suc22+, have been determined. open reading frame, which interrupted genome by single intron very close to 5′ end, encodes protein 811 amino acids, has an acid sequence highly similar that large subunit ribonucleotide reductase from several species. suc22+ contains uninterrupted frame 391 small reductase. Disruption either lethal. Upstream coding region are seven short elements recognition for MluI, involved regulating periodic transcription gene. Inhibition DNA synthesis hydroxyurea results several-fold increase transcript. In contrast, does not induce 1.5 kb but induction 1.9 mRNA hybridises DNA.
