摘要: Several groups of patients are at increased risk for traumatic injury that is ‘‘occult,’’ or not apparent on initial presentation. Perhaps the most notorious those who abuse alcohol, but other include elderly, coagulopathic, with neurological disease, and mentally ill. Moreover, can coexist (or be masked by) medical pathology, resulting in disposition injured to nonsurgical services where surveillance diminishes. Because delays failures diagnosis might result unnecessary pain, morbidity, mortality, it important emergency physician (EP) identify occult presentations trauma before disposition. This review highlights commonly missed injuries adult patients.
