The Correlation Between Patient Comprehension of Their Reason for Hospital Admission and Overall Patient Satisfaction in the Emergency Department

摘要: Objectives (1) To determine the patient’s comprehension of reasons for admission in emergency department and (2) to examine what, if any, correlation there is between patients’ understanding satisfaction with care. Methods Using a convenience sample over 6-month period, patients from an urban, level 1 adult pediatric trauma center were interviewed by research fellows patient care area. A total 287 given Emergency Department Quality Study (EDQS) survey either English or Spanish. Only 18 years older, who able consent, spoke Spanish, medically stable included study. The study was approved institutional review board. An analysis variance used any significant difference exists In order which these variables could predict levels, log linear regression used. Results majority (90%) rated their as good excellent, 78% them did understand why they being admitted. 22%, however, not test results cause admitted hospital. There negative finding among having tests, reason admission, returning care, overall satisfaction.
