摘要: Aim The relationship between the hepatitis C virus (HCV) and oral lichen planus (OLP) remains a controversial subject for clinicians. Many studies aimed at studying association HCV OLP have been conducted over years. Geographical variations shown to be major factor influencing this association. This study determining whether such an epidemiological exists in Indian population. Methods One hundred thirty clinically histopathologically confirmed patients (46 males 84 females, mean age 43.47±10.48 years) 130 age- gender matched controls were examined serological evidence of chronic hepatic disease, B surface antigen (HBsAg), anti-HCV seropositivity. blood samples collected from both groups subjected biochemical analysis total bilirubin, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine alkaline phosphatase enzymes using semi-automated biochemistry analyser. HBsAg antibody tested by ELISA. Statistical was calculated Levene's test independent t-test. Results No significant difference serum levels aminotransferase observed groups. All with had normal liver function. None or control subjects antigens HCV. Conclusion Patients did not any disease HBV infection. exact mechanism that still unclear rejects hypothesis established co-relation
