摘要: Reducing health disparities is a national public priority. Latinos represent the largest racial/ethnic minority group in United States and suffer disproportionately from poor outcomes, including cardiovascular disease risk. Academic training programs are an opportunity for reducing disparities, part by increasing diversity of workforce incorporating designed to develop skill set address disparities. This article describes Training Career Development Program at UCLA Center Population Health Disparities: multilevel, transdisciplinary program that uses community-engaged approach reduce risk two urban Mexican American communities. Results suggest this effective enhancing sets traditionally underrepresented students become researchers practitioners.
