摘要: Background A workforce that resembles the society it serves is likely to be more effective in improving health equity for racial and ethnic minorities U.S. Racial are underrepresented public professions. Project Imhotep operated by Morehouse College with funding technical assistance from CDC. trains minority students entry into graduate professional training programs careers sciences. The curriculum focuses on biostatistics, epidemiology, occupational safety practical statistical data analysis, scientific writing, oral presentation skills. Purpose To describe program highlight some of its outcomes. Methods Data were collected every year self-administered questionnaire or follow-up telephone e-mail interviews who participated during 1982–2010 followed through December 2013. Results Findings demonstrated 100% 481 trained earned bachelor’s degrees; 73.2% degrees (53% master’s degrees, 11.1% medical 7.3% other doctoral degrees); 60% entered careers. Conclusions has improved representation among professionals diverse involving graduates could augment pool pubic make strategic tactical decisions around design resource allocation impact most affected communities.
