摘要: Abstract Objective Genetic background largely contributes to the complexity of metabolic responses and dysfunctions. Induction brown adipose features in white fat, known as remodeling, has been appreciated a promising strategy offset positive energy balance obesity further improve metabolism. Here we address effects genetic on this process. Methods We investigated browning remodeling depot-specific manner by comparing response C57BL/6J, 129/Sv FVB/NJ mouse strains cold. Results Surprisingly, mice showed distinct despite their similar resistance disorders comparison obesity-prone C57BL/6J mice. demonstrated preference inguinal subcutaneous tissue (iWAT), whereas displayed robust visceral epididymal fat (eWAT). compared gene expression different depots RNA-sequencing identified Hoxc10 novel “brake” iWAT. Conclusion Rodent determines depots. This study provides new insights into role variation susceptibility diseases.
