摘要: The purpose of the International Safety Management Code (the ISM Code) is to promote safety culture in maritime industry. Learning lessons from incidents should help improve performance since and accidents can share same root causes. aim this paper take a closer look at incident reporting Finnish shipping industry, study reasons for poor suggest improvements increase reporting. consists literature study, which focuses on previous studies concerning reporting, an interview companies their personnel. confirmed that does not function properly within personnel have occupational incompatible with rule-based management approach provided by Code. willingness report could be increased if all seafarers were involved process preparation corrective actions. In addition, procedures streamlined developed more user-friendly direction.
