Cerebrospinal fluid levels of opioid peptides in fibromyalgia and chronic low back pain.

摘要: The mechanism(s) of nociceptive dysfunction and potential roles opioid neurotransmitters are unresolved in the chronic pain syndromes fibromyalgia low back pain. History physical examinations, tender point questionnaires were used to identify 14 fibromyalgia, 10 6 normal control subjects. Lumbar punctures performed. Met-enkephalin-Arg6-Phe7 (MEAP) nociceptin immunoreactive materials measured cerebrospinal fluid by radioimmunoassays. Fibromyalgia (117.6 pg/ml; 85.9 149.4; mean, 95% C.I.; p = 0.009) (92.3 56.9 127.7; 0.049) groups had significantly higher MEAP than group (35.7 15.0 56.5). was inversely correlated systemic thresholds. Nociceptin not different between groups. Systemic Complaints questionnaire responses ranked as > normal. SF-36 domains demonstrated severe disability for group, intermediate results high function group. distinguished MEAP, complaints, manual points; scores; lower thresholds compared Central nervous system may contribute fibromyalgia.
