摘要: Aim  We seek to demonstrate that whilst information derived from phylogeographic and landscape genetic approaches has been used broadly further ecological evolutionary hypothesis testing, it can also be species modelling approaches, particularly where bioclimatic demographic methodologies are combined tackle climate change adaptation conservation planning. Location  General application. Methods  start with a review of distribution studies have data molecular marker studies, identify which parameters realistically for inclusion in ecosystem prediction planning. Results  find the uptake methods inform date limited (particularly latter approaches), despite offering clear potential improve aim combine climatic envelope parameters. Using series cases we useful identifying biogeographic barriers refugia, testing alternative models, concordant patterns between within single temporal niche conservatism. quantifying permeability source/sink dynamics meta-populations adaptive variation landscape. A summary derivable such applications is provided. Main conclusions  Molecular much offer modelling, field adaptation. on historical contemporary demography necessary advance paradigms integrate drivers. Furthermore, recognizing diversity below level incorporating this into frameworks will enable managers plan capture areas potential.
