摘要: Cholinergic modulation of hippocampal synaptic plasticity has been studied extensively by applying receptor agonists or blockers; however, the effect rapid physiological cholinergic stimuli on is largely unknown. Here, we report that septal input, activated either electrical stimulation via an optogenetic approach, induced different types Schaffer collateral (SC) to CA1 plasticity, depending timing input relative SC input. When was 100 10 ms prior stimulation, it resulted in α7 nAChR-dependent long-term potentiation (LTP) short-term depression, respectively. delayed until after a muscarinic AChR-dependent LTP induced. Moreover, these various forms were disrupted Aβ exposure. These results have revealed remarkable temporal precision functions, providing novel mechanism for information processing cholinergic-dependent higher cognitive functions.
