摘要: In this paper we investigate the performance of likelihood ratio method as a tool for identifying optical and infrared counterparts to proposed radio continuum surveys with Square Kilometre Array (SKA) precursor pathfinder telescopes. We present comparison identified by in VISTA Deep Extragalactic Observations (VIDEO) survey observations 6, 10 15 arcsec resolution. cross-match deep catalogue consisting sources peak flux density >60 Jy near-infrared data limited Ks≲ 22.6. Comparing from procedure those obtained when cross-matching set simulated lower resolution catalogues indicates that degrading 6 arcsec decreases completeness cross-matched approximately 3 7 per cent respectively. When matching against shallower data, comparable achieved Hemisphere Survey, fraction reliably drops ∼89 per cent, at 22.6, 47 20.0. Decreasing limit does not result any further decrease produced procedure. However, note MeerKAT eventually SKA, will require long baselines order ensure resulting maps are instrumental confusion noise.
