摘要: Guidelines for polio immunization have undergone some major changes in the past few years after remaining almost unaltered about three decades. The most recent of these occurred 1999, when Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), American Academy Pediatrics (AAP), and Family Physicians (AAFP) recommended inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) first two doses routine childhood immunization. oral (OPV) no longer is acceptable only parents refuse extra injections needed to administer IPV, travel imminent countries where endemic, or during an outbreak wild-type infection. shift away from OPV increasing preference IPV was brought by progress that has global eradication poliomyelitis need a further reduction incidence vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyeletis (VAPP) been associated with OPV. This review will discuss history United States, development epidemiology VAPP, risks benefits all proposed vaccination options, practical approaches implementing new guidelines.
