摘要: This paper explores the social and cultural construction of femininity among young Hmong women in western diaspora. Young attending high school west find themselves located between competing sometimes contradictory discourses relation to gender as they are exposed ‘tradition’ educational values. The examines strategies adopted by Tasmania, Australia attempt negotiate through sets expectations construct positive images womanhood acceptable both local community wider society.
