Inclusiveness of Economic Growth in the People's Republic of China: What Do Population Health Outcomes Tell Us?

摘要: Despite the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) remarkable economic growth, improvements in population health outcomes slowed during reform period. Along with increasing commercialization sector, urban−rural disparities have increased; there are large inequalities between rich and poor; income has become a major constraint to health. Noting current debate PRC on models care system, paper argues that whatever model is followed, be greater public sector role funding basic care, providing protective cover poor vulnerable groups, regulating various actors market. If not, PRC’s growth process risks leaving section its behind terms key development indicators such as
