Lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus): A plant for future medicinal edible oil

摘要: The proximate composition of the lemon grass and oil content were studied for various physico-chemical properties such as – content, ash, moisture, acid value, saponification iodine value,free fatty (FFA), specific gravity, mean molecular mass (MMM), refractive index (RI) per standard procedure. determination was done by using Gas liquid Chromatography (GC). dry matter, crude protein, fibre, ether extract ash contents 68.04%, 10.28, 12.21, 16.07% 9.76% respectively. found to be rich in linoleic (30.72%), oleic (28.17%), myristic (4.33%) well lauric (1.87%) compared that palm oil. ratio oven dried 1:1.2. value 205.66 while 1.453. values free acid, total ester 0.95, 12.86, 49.64 156.02 results revealed potential future medicinal nutritional values.
