摘要: Abstract The area centered around Afghanistan is a collage of continental blocks derived from Gondwanaland. This comprises, among others: 1. (1) Hercynian orogenic belt widely represented in and also by some sparse outcrops the northern Iran; it subduction-type orogen constructed at margin between Paleotethys Turan-Turkestan-Tarim block; 2. (2) Eocimmerian belt, north collision-type same place as resulted closure collision central Iran with 3. (3) southern which are now confined to but may project beneath Neogene Quaternary formations Afghanistan; Neotethys Iran-central block, itself was that time subjected regional extension; this incorporated Alpine-Himalayan orogen. geology these belts suggests opening became effective only Permian or Triassic, Red Sea-type phase during Upper Devonian. Its initial rifting possibly occurred Lower Paleozoic, much like Paleotethys, Paleozoic whose Ordovician. Thus, each oceanic realms region appears have extension Gondwanaland after they followed more less different paths evolution. Moreover, proposed geodynamic interpretation implies Triassic there certain coexistence vanishing relatively young Neotethys, beginning subduct.
