摘要: Parkinson’s disease (PD), one of the most frequent neurodegenerative disorders, is primarily caused by selective degeneration specific neuronal populations, particularly dopaminergic neurons within substantia nigra projecting to striatum (nigrostriatal neurons). The current pharmacological treatments are efficient in early stage but with continuous use pro-dopaminergic medication may become less effective and cause motor complications. Cell therapy an emergent alternative therapeutic strategy PD consists replacement damaged new cells that could help restore nigrostriatal pathway. For this purpose, stem constitute a promising tool provide sources be used for experimental transplantation studies PD, as well other neurological disorders. Numerous being made tissue neural progenitors obtained from either fetal or adult nervous systems. In chapter we will summarize numerous preclinical clinical performed so far animal models patients how might improve cell therapies.
