摘要: Abstract Development of sustainable and resilient water infrastructure is an urgent challenge for urban areas to secure long-term availability mitigate negative impacts consumption development. A hybrid system that combines centralized household decentralized facilities, including rainwater harvesting greywater recycling, may be a solution more management in areas. Understanding community preferences facilities important inform the design ultimately promotion adoption such systems. In this study, we conducted discrete choice experiment, via Amazon Mechanical Turk, collect data on choices different facility designs two U.S. cities, Atlanta, Georgia Boston, Massachusetts. Based responses then developed latent-class model predict households’ features examine influence socioeconomic personal characteristics heterogeneous class membership. We identified six major classes Atlanta respectively, evaluated how readily each likely choose facility. Boston have some sharing similar systems, but these cities are different. found early positively related neighbors’ adoptions pressure scarcity increases willingness share The visualization spatial distribution highlighted demand emerge low-property-value communities, which creates unique opportunity introducing during renovations. Our study provides framework through citizen engagement understand social facilities.
