摘要: Between March 1973 and December 1980, 76 patients with Stage I or II breast carcinoma were treated by biopsy definitive radiation therapy at Stanford University Medical Center. There 78 breasts since two had bilateral carcinomas presentation. During a median follow-up period of 29 months, eight developed discrete masses in the breast. In four these biopsied tissue revealed recurrent yielding local control rate 95%. Four additional lesions which clinically indistinguishable from cancer. Biopsy specimens, however, fat necrosis The clinical pathologic features this entity are described. It is imperative that clinicians be aware treatment sequelae so conservative diagnostic procedures may used deformity minimized. If postirradiation considered, mastectomy for suspected persistent disease avoided.
