摘要: In the 1970s, first specimens of large-bodied hominoid now referred to as Lufengpithecus lufengensis (Fig. 1) were discovered in southern Chinese province Yunnan, at Shihuiba colliery site, which lies 9 km north town Lufeng. The is characterized by lignite deposits, late Miocene (ca. 8 Ma) and thus approximately coeval with Sivapithecus sites Turkey (Andrews Tekkaya, 1980) Indo-Pakistan (Pilbeam, 1982) perhaps a few million years younger than Dryopithecus Hungary (Kordos, 1987; Kretzoi, 1975) Spain (Moya-Sola Kohler, 1993).
