摘要: Supporting limb laminitis (SLL) is a devastating sequela to severe unilateral lameness in equine patients. The manifestation of SLL, which usually only affects one limb, unpredictable and the etiology unknown. A novel, non-painful preferential weight bearing model designed mimic effects forelimb was developed assess lamellar signaling events supporting (SL). custom v-shaped insert attached shoe prevent normal redistribute onto SL. Testing using scale platform built into floor stocks confirmed increased distribution on SL compared with unloaded (UL) contralateral (CH) ipsilateral (IH) hind limbs six Standardbred horses. In second part study, eight healthy horses were fitted tied consistent monitoring free access hay water for 48 h, after lamellae harvested. Real-time qPCR performed mRNA concentrations inflammatory genes immunoblotting immunofluorescence protein concentration cellular localization hypoxia-related proteins, respectively. Lamellar proteins did not differ between either CH or IH samples. HIF-1α greater (P < 0.05) CH. This work establishes an experimental study initial results suggest that hypoxia may occur
