摘要: Recent work has indicated that iron (oxyhydr-)oxides are capable of structurally incorporating and releasing metals nutrients as a result Fe2+-induced oxide recrystallization. In the present paper, we briefly review current literature examining mechanisms by which oxides recrystallize summarize how recrystallization affects metal incorporation release. We also provide new experimental evidence for release structural manganese from manganese-doped goethite. Currently, exact mechanism(s) remain elusive, although they likely to be both oxide-and metal-dependent. conclude discussing some future research directions Fe2+-catalysed
