摘要: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the wear performance carbon steel cladded with TiC powders by gas tungsten arc welding method. Because poor resistance, steels have limited industrial applications as tribological components. Design/methodology/approach cladding microstructures were characterized optical microscope, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer. behavior clad layer was studied a block-on-ring tribometer. Findings experimental results revealed that metallurgical interface provided an excellent bond between substrate. no porosity or cracking, particles evenly distributed throughout layer. Hardness increased from HRc 6.6 in substrate 62 due presence hard phase. Originality/value experiments confirm surfaces reduce wear...
