Indirect determination of the 230Th(n, f ) and 231Th(n, f ) cross sections for thorium-based nuclear energy systems

摘要: The Surrogate Ratio Method (SRM) was employed in the first experimental determination of 231Th(n,f) cross section, relative to 235U(n,f) over an equivalent neutron energy range 360 keV 10 MeV. 230Th(n,f) section also deduced using SRM, 234U(n,f) 220 25 desired compound nuclei were populated (3He,3He) and (3He) reactions on targets 232Th 236U fission decay probabilities measured. surrogate 230,231Th(n,f) sections compared evaluations directly-measured data, where available.
