摘要: Size and characteristics of home range are fundamental ecological parameters for a species useful life-history variables predicting the number individuals that can occupy certain area. In Italy, wildlife biologists have largely ignored spatial behaviour European pine marten, although this predator is present across peninsula. We investigated seasonal socio-spatial marten in sub-Mediterranean deciduous oak forest central by radio-tracking 16 martens (eight males eight females). To our knowledge, research only published study on spacing pattern forests first radio-telemetry Italy. Size, composition stability ranges (FK 95 50 %) were analyzed both sexes. Unlike what has been reported literature other habitats, resulted similar size coverage sexes throughout seasons. The exception females’ territories whose decreased spring. Males females occupied stable position through year, leading us to hypothesize was able meet resource requirements all Our results provide information ecology may be helpful conservation management southern Europe.
