摘要: Purpose To evaluate a novel multislice CT system (16-slice-spiral-CT scanner) for the diagnosis of carotid artery stenosis. Material and methods Five patients with symptomatic atherosclerotic disease arteries were examined 16- slice-spiral-CT scanner. Collimation was 16 x 0.75 mm, table speed 36 mm/s (pitch 1.5), rotation time 0.5 s, tube current 160 eff.mAs at 120 kV. 60 ml contrast material injected power injector followed by saline flush. The start delay measured test bolus method (20 CM). Interactive multiplanar reformation (iMPR) thin slab MIP as well volume rendering used image evaluation presentation. Results Scan 9 s range 300 mm. This allowed imaging whole length (aortic arch to circle Willis) in true arterial phase. Pulsation artefacts did not impair vessels level aortic arch. Overall quality both "source images" 3D-reconstructions excellent, due reduced voxel size 0.03 mm (3). Image postprocessing (iMPR, MIP) done within 15 min. iMPR highly accurate demonstrating plaque morphology determining percentage Conclusion For first time, phase images entire high spatial resolution could be acquired using 16-slice-spiral-CT offers potential replace catheter angiography
