摘要: Abstract Large individual differences in pigs' behavioural and adrenocortical responses to stressful conditions is a common problem. This study examines the existence of stable between individuals relationship behaviour function. Behavioural activity home pen, open-field behaviour, response ACTH1–24 were studied 24 domestic pigs at different ages. Individual variation physiological was large; amount or intensity both remained consistent over 14 week period within pigs; littermates minimal. Further analysis revealed that showed greater stimulation more active vocalized during test less their pen than responsive pigs. We conclude responsiveness adrenal cortex associated with increased locomotor vocalization novel situation. The vocalizations hyperresponsive an open field are indicative excitability often accompanied by escape attempts. Moreover, those animals characterized under unstimulated conditions. results support concept function positively correlated score individuals.
