摘要: The refeeding syndrome is increasingly recognised. It a serious change in electrolytes when nutrition reintroduced to malnourished patients. Alcohol dependence risk factor for the syndrome. We report prospective cohort study of 36 alcoholics hospitalised withdrawal management. found no evidence any patient after 3 days hospitalisation, despite hypomagnesaemia, being prevalent (44% subjects). Low thiamine levels were infrequent affecting 3/29 (10%). recommend that admitted managed withdrawal, appears be low, and routine testing repeat unnecessary.
