摘要: Friction tests were performed in an ultrahigh vacuum chamber with SiC pin sliding against Mo flat during and after exposure to gases at pressures between 4 40 Pa. Wear tracks, scars debris were, analyzed ex situ scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) transmission (TEM). Steady-stale friction coefficients 0.10 0.15 SO2 O2 less than 0.01 H2S gas; contrast, <10−5 Pa gave of about 1. SEM/EDX wear features formed showed that tracks on covered surrounded by small (1–5 μm), flakelike particles. In had long stretches, a smoothly burnished surface very little debris. TEM collected from both also found only metallic The lubricant afforded the is discussed terms third-body products formed...
