摘要: Abstract The microstructure of Shirasu Porous Glass (SPG) membrane has been investigated using metallographic microscope and high-resolution X-ray microtomography (XMT) the obtained results are compared with Hg-porosimetry data. porosity in 600 cross sections analysed by XMT was found to vary a narrow range between 52.5 57.4% mean value 55.1%. looks similar on SEM images tortuous, interconnected cylindrical pores extending all directions within membrane. formation O/W W/O/W emulsion droplets have observed real time SPG or Microporous (MPG) disks pore size 10.2 16.2 μm. quality video recordings much better when surface finely polished diamond paste, although it did not affect droplet behaviour. formed at same were highly monodispersed detached regular intervals, but this interval showed significant variations for different pores. SDS-stabilised from as soon they formed, due strong electrostatic repulsions anionic negatively charged surface. Tween 80-stabilised kept attached after formation, before being pushed away next pore. Under conditions smaller than stabilised 80.
