摘要: Periostracum cicadae is widely used for the treatment of skin diseases such as eczema, pruritus, and itching. The current study sought to evaluate effect P. extract on ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation identify mechanisms involved. Photodamage-protective activity extracts against oxidative challenge was screened using HaCaT keratinocytes. did not affect cell viability but decreased reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. attenuates expression interleukin-6 (IL-6), matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), MMP-9 in UVB-treated cells. Also, abrogated UVB-induced activation NF-κB, p53, activator protein-1 (AP-1). downmodulation IL-6 by inhibited p38 inhibitor (SB203580) or JNK (SP600125). Moreover, attenuated NF-κB induced thrombomodulin keratinocytes thereby effectively downregulated inflammatory responses skin. nuclear accumulation NF-E2-related factor (Nrf2) were increased treatment. Furthermore, with remarkably ameliorated skin's structural damage irradiation. This demonstrates that may protect cells insult modulating ROS concentration, IL-6, MMPs generation, antioxidant enzymes activity, signaling pathways.
