摘要: Abstract Risk assessment in the criminal justice system is a complex and dynamic concept that covers wide range of behaviors situations, for example, dangerousness. In addition, it also aims to predict outcomes number different potential scenarios, such as reoffending. Not surprisingly, even most valid reliable instrument has balance competing elements sensitivity against specificity. While risk inventories have largely demonstrated increased efficiency guiding practitioner decision making, problems with being able accurately limit false-positive/-negative nexus particularly stark implications practice youth settings. Evidence from many recent international studies suggests majority young people referred services “light touch” approach suitable these individuals should be seen suffering further harm if embroiled within formal sanctions. Interventions restorative approaches schools more practical pragmatic dealing problematic cohorts.
