摘要: A total of 211 episodes bloodstream yeast infections in 207 patients, hospitalized 28 Belgian hospitals participating a National Surveillance Program, were evaluated. 81% the patients more than 50 years age. Candida albicans was cause 55% 22% due to C. glabrata and 13% parapsilosis. The most common predisposing factors antibacterial therapy (42%), residence an intensive care unit (32.9%) presence intravascular catheter (29.7%). Most had one factor. Fluconazole alone or association with another antifungal agent treatment choice for 89.7% cases. In vitro susceptibility testing isolates revealed that 99% susceptible amphotericin B, 95% 5-fluorocytosine, 82% fluconazole 69% itraconazole. Resistance azoles among elderly. We conclude frequency infection is decreasing Belgium this associated emergence other species, notably, glabrata.
