摘要: BACKGROUND This paper examines the evidence that rates of anorexia nervosa have increased over time. METHOD Epidemiological studies provided time trends in incidence specific countries or psychiatric registers and prevalence surveys were reviewed to assess whether not estimates are higher most recent studies. RESULTS Estimated showed an increase but no study ruled out plausible alternative explanations. Studies showing upward trend as numerous generally based on larger samples. Analysis 29 cross-sectional conducted last 25 years indicated median rate was 1.3 per 1000 females. There indication more yielded rates. CONCLUSION Anorexia remains a rare disorder there is secular its incidence.
