摘要: ABSTRACT A bird-parasitic fly, Carnus orientalis Maa, 1968, is recorded for the first time from Japan, and it taxonomically reexamined on basis of specimens collected in Okinawa Prefecture. Adult flies were found nestlings Ryukyu scops owl (Otus elegans Cassin, 1852), which a new host C. orientalis. Bionomic remarks regarding are presented, key to world species also provided.
