摘要: Opportunistic Controls are a class of user interaction techniques that we have developed for augmented reality (AR) applications to support gesturing on, and receiving feedback from, otherwise unused affordances already present in the domain environment. By leveraging characteristics these provide passive haptics ease gesture input, simplify recognition, tangible user. In this approach, 3D widgets tightly coupled with visual hints about functionality control. For example, set buttons can be mapped existing tactile features on objects. We describe examples designed implemented using optical marker tracking, combined appearance-based recognition. results two studies. first, participants performed simulated maintenance inspection an aircraft engine virtual both as simpler haptics. allowed complete their tasks significantly faster were preferred over baseline technique. second, proposed demonstrated interfaces incorporating domains, allowing us gain additional insights into how featuring might designed.
