摘要: The concept of immunologic manipulation in the treatment cancer is nothing new. Although it dates back to late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (Coley, 1891, 1893), little attention was paid for a long time. However, interest revived with discovery tumor-associated antigens (TAA) on spontaneously occurring animal human tumors (Old Boyse, 1964; Old Stockert, 1977; Moller, Hewitt et al., 1976; Witz, Garrett Herberman, Prehn, Hewitt, 1978; Baker Billing 1978). These are not usually found normal cells, at least detectable levels, they therefore considered be tumor-associated. Among various types detected so far cell membrane tumor besides tumor-specific antigens, embryonic antigen, organ-specific histocompatibility antigen (Gupta Morton, 1983; F. Martin Martin, 1970; Purves Geddes, 1972; Sengupta Ray, 1979; Ray Seshadri, 1980, 1981). Against those both humoral cell-mediated immune responses have been demonstrated vivo vitro, implicating “foreignness” these antigens. An interesting review by Gupta Morton (1983) discussed characteristics associated tumors; dynamic aspect response antigens; their role surveillance, rejection, enhancement growth.
