摘要: Abstract This extended editorial introduction to a themed issue of Geoforum on geographies peak oil has three objectives. First, it provides concise account the ’peak oil’ claim, identifying key protagonists in debate, and outlining different stances with regard timing, shape composition (conventional vs. non-conventional hydrocarbons) peak. Second, after briefly characterising limited engagement by human geographers, offers provisional set claims about what geographical analysis might yield. Finally, introduces each papers and, doing so, makes case for fuller more sustained geography this ’other carbon problem.’
