摘要: The capacity to predict time silking relative anthesis in maize (Zea mays L.) has important implications for breeding and seed production. We developed a theoretical quantitative framework simulating the interval (ASI) based on plant growth biomass partitioning ear. tested this simulate progress of nine inbreds four hybrids whose rate (PGR) during fl owering was altered by stand density, thinning, or defoliating treatments. Time 50% varied with genotype but not affected canopy modifi cations (P < 0.01). ASI, however, proportion plants reaching ranged from 12 100% across There were signifi cant 0.001) × treatment interactions PGR around plantto-plant variability rate. Genotypes differed ear, pattern ear (EB) accumulation, EB required achieve silking. Despite these effects, accurately simulated dynamics 36 combinations (R 2 = 0.86, RMSE 16.7%). These results show that coupling expansion process is useful robust approach modeling ASI at population level.
