摘要: The Internet could be a key channel for disseminating information about colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. Little research, however, has systematically examined factors other than writing style related to the reading difficulty of on Internet. In present study we assessed 19 CRC Web sites. We pages within selected sites containing screening or prevention using SMOG readability formula and Suitability Assessment Materials instrument. average grade level was 12.8. SAM results indicated common problems with sites, including (1) lack review ideas; (2) insufficient use illustrations messages; (3) crowded layout long line lengths; (4) small type size cues highlight content; (5) interactive features. Many providing may too difficult American adult much adults limited literacy. unique features that support learning are not being utilized. powerful tool educating individuals CRC, but barrier content must addressed along access barriers.
